The event was initially held and sponsored by the Gauteng Provincial Government and the Department of Basic Education. This current version of the Youth Expo is a spiritual successor of said event but has seen a great deal of success and high adoption from the youth of South Africa. The event is currently being supported by YEM Online Education, Viewmax Interactive Media and their partners.
